In 2000, Sandy was hired by the Enslow Publishing Company to write a bibliography of the President, George W. Bush. While it was submitted for editing, she was hired to write a bibliography of Spanish explorer, Francisco Pizarro. Sandy is the editor and writer of the newsletter for her local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, a society of women educators. She is a website designer for the Clark County Retired Teachers Association (ccrtaohio.com).

Sandy has contributed articles to local organizations where she is a member, such as The Muse Machine. The Muse Machine also hired her to speak about her experience writing bibliographies at its advisors' summer workshop. Sandy was also hired to speak at Clark County School's Exemplary Writers' Recognition Workshop. With her greater than full-time teaching career behind her, Sandy is moving ahead with developing her short, nonfiction pieces for magazine and newspaper publications.
